Cartoon Sunday: Neurotically Yours Programming Conflict [Chibisode]

How's it going my gumdrops? Towards the end of last week, I had the opportunity to talk with Jonathan Ian Mathers (You know the creator of Neurotically Yours and Foamy The Squirrel?) on Facebook.

Those of you, who LOVE Foamy The Squirrel as much as I do, probably want to ask:

What was it like talking to Jonathan Ian Mathers (JIM)?

Honestly, I have no complaints. I respect the man for his individuality and his artistic ability. We need more people like Jonathan Ian Mathers more than ever, this second. Encountering more individualists like ourselves is like stumbling upon a unicorn.

Most people have no idea what it's like to create something of their own from nothing or to be more innovative. Take Hollywood now, for instance.

Before we can blink our eyes, filmmakers announce that they are remaking and/rebooting classic movies, cartoons, and shows, that really DON'T  need remakes.

This is partly why I stopped investing time and money on watching, listening, and buying most entertainment.

Hollywood entertainment has become nothing other than garbage 98% of the time today. Only fools will waste their money on garbage. You may say, "One's trash is another one's treasure." Today that old saying barely applies anymore.

Almost everything sucks ass. This is not including the A to F-list celebutards. Over the last 12-15 years, those same know-it-all, zealots continuously patronize everybody and act like self-righteous, "political activists" about everything known to man.

Truth be told, those same people really don't care about much of anything or anyone. That is unless money, being pretentious, materialistic, and worrying about their own self-image to us lowly peasants are at risk.

Like I was saying, I like AND respect Jonathan Ian Mathers for his individuality and his artwork. Not only do I like and respect JIM, but I can also empathize with him for being mostly solo for these last 15 years.

While we were talking last Thursday and Friday, we discussed how saturated content creation is today. Everything has turned into a competition.

Even JIM has problems reaching viewers like he was able to do years ago. This is mostly because we live in a world where everybody MUST  be seen and heard 24/7, almost every animal and person are "famous" now without notice, shallow and self-centered, attention whores must be told they are "beautiful" and "winners," and everyone IS a winner, now.

Let's not forget about those uproarious "safe spaces."

Because someone uploads and posts pictures of themselves, their pets, and kids EVERY damn nano second, they are "stars" regardless of how shallow and vapid they truly are as humans and animals.

Meanwhile, content creators must overcome indifference from shallow and VAPID people. More original content with words or other forms of art and entertainment, which doesn't pander to mainstream audiences, are mostly underappreciated and ignored.

This is something I have been coping with over these last 3-5 years. INDIFFERENCE. You would be amazed at the number of people I have reconnected with over the years, who pretended to care about how my life has been and what I am currently doing.

The moment I mention the slightest accomplishment, they will typically want some favors, try social climbing because they expect me to be "famous," or assume I am close to FAME, since I have met and interacted with celebrities, politicians, and public figures.

Otherwise, those same people may become insecure, distant, feel threatened, jealous, resentful, make snide and backhanded remarks, and/transfer and project their own insecurities on me.

If not the preceding, I have to endure friend collectors on social media sites because they want an increase in their viewership for selfies like shallow, high school girls. People like that, I have no time for and had to dump a few over the last week to 5 years.

If you seriously don't care about long lost family, friends, classmates, exes, etc. do NOT waste OUR time by inviting yourselves back into our lives only because YOU want to say, that you know and remember us, then pretend we do NOT exist to you.

Since we were previously on the topic of content creation, Jonathan Ian Mathers also mentioned that he is not really skilled with self-promotion and that social media and other sites want money to promote our content. I understand exactly what he means.

I am terrible with self-promotion and I don't have the money for someone to promote my content.

Self-promoting on social media is a royal pain in the ass. When you are surrounded by indifferent people, including "friends" on social media, it exacerbates the problem(s).

In addition, Jonathan Ian Mathers and other content creators on YouTube now have to deal with censorship.

Since the time I was a teenager, I have always been anti-censorship.

You know, if MORE average people and Hollywood entertainers desperately want to be "activists," they should go back to protesting censorship like entertainers did in 1984.

Tipper Gore and the helicopter moms from 1984 are to blame for the censorship we have today.

It is also Slick Willy's fault, that we have the V-chip in our TV's. Notice which smarmy politicians made CENSORSHIP official?

*cough-cough* Clinton/Gore *cough-cough*

This is about as political I will get on It's Not All Gumdrops & Unicorns. I try to stay as apolitical as possible because most really CANNOT  handle other people with opposing views. All this talk about content creation and censorship is only fitting for this blog.

I believe Jonathan Ian Mathers was intentionally pushing the proverbial envelope with these 2 videos. He is actively exercising his rights to freedom of speech on YouTube.

Those of you with YouTube channels should be doing the same. Anyway, here is today's Cartoon Sunday.

Song Saturday: Vanity's Nature Boy [Cover]

            RIP VANITY!!!

How's it going my gumdrops? Wow! This is shocking and sad news. Literally 1 day after Valentine's Day, Denise Katrina Matthews, (a.k.a. Prince's former protege, "Vanity") just died from Renal Failure at age 57.

This is not only surprising, but also tragic. It appears that more entertainers have been dying again, including this past week. Vanity recently celebrated her 57th birthday, last month on January 4th. It is 1 month later. NOW, she's dead.

I don't know about anyone else, but it seems like the year of 2016 will be worse than the last several years. I really dread what this year has in store for everyone.

2016 already got off to a brutal start with famous people, most specifically musicians dropping like flies.

As I was saying, Prince's former protege, Vanity died from Renal Failure on February 15, 2016. It's a good thing Prince hasn't died yet. Chances are great that my uncle would go postal over him. Prince has always been more of an idol to him than Jimi Hendrix. The man loves them both, although he seems to favor Prince over Hendrix.

Growing up during the 1980's and '90s, I was never a Prince or Vanity zealot. However, my youngest aunt and I both had our own parakeets named Prince and Vanity. She had a blue parakeet, named Prince and mine was a purple parakeet named, Vanity.

More than 30 years later, I still feel that having a purple parakeet named Vanity is strange. I mean, c'mon!

Everybody knows that Prince is about purple. He has an album called Purple Rain and purple is his signature color.

When my youngest aunt and I had our 2 parakeets, I was a preschooler. She claims that my parakeet, Vanity literally pecked hers (Prince) to death. Supposedly, Vanity pecked out all Prince's feathers and gave him a disease. Talk about a vicious bird.

Other than owning 2 parakeets named after Prince and Vanity, I was NOT  a zealot of theirs. Don't get me wrong by any means. I DID like some of Prince and Vanity's songs growing up, during the '80s, but I listened to more Pop Music and Glam Metal.

Even though my mother FORBADE me to listen Rap, I still listened to it. Regardless, I always listened to whatever I wanted to growing up and still do today as an adult.

Earlier this week, I learned some interesting tidbits about Vanity. For example, I had NO idea that Vanity and Nikki Sixx from Motley Crue were engaged in 1986!

On YouTube, I stumbled upon an old interview with Arsenio Hall interviewing Vanity.

Arsenio Hall Interviews Vanity (1986)
Watching the way that man salivated over Vanity repulsed me to no end. Growing up, my grandmother always ranted about how much she could NOT  stand Arsenio and normally referred to him as a "lowlife."

After watching his interview with Vanity as a 33 going on 34-year-old woman, I have to agree with her. Arsenio Hall reminds me of the sleazy, lowlife creeps from the street.

Meanwhile, I was annoyed watching Vanity act like a bimbo on stage. Not to speak ill of the dead, but she was literally a bimbo on crack or a "crack whore." Vanity used so much crack throughout the 1980's, that she and Nikki Sixx broke off their engagement in 1987.

The Howard Stern Show: "Motley Crue's Nikki Sixx Explains Why He & Vanity Broke Up" (2007)
By 1994, Vanity overdosed on crack and nearly died from Renal Failure. Because of the large amounts of cocaine she used throughout the decades, she started having kidney problems and had to go through a Peritoneal Dialysis 5 times a day.

After surviving her cocaine overdose in '94, she chose to become a "Born Again Christian" and went into Evangelism.

In 1995, there was a 1980's special on MTV, which was reflecting on music videos and groups from the '80s. It also shared updates about musicians from that decade.

Vanity explained in an MTV interview about her drug addiction and how she became a "saved" evangelist. In addition, she began blaming Prince for her cocaine problems.

As a 13-year-old girl at the time, I could not help rolling my eyes at Vanity's interview.

Unless Prince physically FORCED  Vanity to the ground and made her use cocaine, or slipped it inside her food and beverages, he is not at fault.

She chose to become a drug addict. I think it's wonderful that Vanity quit abusing drugs and changed her life for the better.

All the while, Vanity acting like a self-righteous victim and blaming Prince for being a crack whore was and continues to be bullshit.

I completely empathize with Vanity wanting to change her life for the better and leaving her scandalous past behind. In spite of the past, she really needed to take ownership for her dumb choices. Hopefully, the woman did before dying.

Before I forget, I learned something else about Vanity that I found to be interesting. Like a few other singers in the past including the late David Bowie, Vanity did a cover of the old Nat King Cole song, "Nature Boy."

In 1989, Vanity made a cameo appearance on Friday The 13th: The Series as a Pop singer named, Angelica. It was on Season 2: Episode 20 titled, "The Secret Agenda of Mesmer's Bauble." In that same episode, it featured Vanity's cover of Nat King Cole's "Nature Boy."

You may be assuming that I'm half-assing today's blog. I really hope this is NOT  the case. This has been quite a rough week and I almost didn't publish ANY  Song Saturday blog for today.

Rather than doing an entire music block of Vanity songs, I thought I would share this extremely rare cover of Vanity singing "Nature Boy" for today's Song Saturday.

Guess What? Astrologer Patrick Arundell Helped Me Dodge An Astro-Taroh Scam!!!

How's it going lurkers? Last month, I meant to publish a review about my favorite YouTube astrologers and tarotists, but I never had the chance.

Speaking of the preceding, YouTube vlogger/astrologer, Patrick Arundell saved me from an astro-tarotist scam 2 summers ago!

We have even been Facebook friends for the last 2 years. Slightly over 3 years ago, I met this so-called "psychic" astro-tarotist named "Jenna Your Astrologer."

For years, I have questioned who I was in a past life/lives (reincarnation). I swear, I must've been a groupie or something in a past life.

Sometimes when I listen to certain bands from the 1960's and '70s, especially bands like The Doors, it feels nostalgic, somewhat like I already existed in the past when I was born in '82.

In 2011, I was in the middle of searching on Google for information about who I was in a past life/lives. The astrological searches on Google became distractions. Suddenly, "Jenna Your Astrologer" appeared in my Google search.

On "Jenna's" site, "she" claimed to give readings about past lives, birth charts, astrological forecasts, etc. "She" gave me some highly convincing free readings.

According to "Jenna," "she" claimed that I would start working at a certain date (which changed each time).

"She" kept pressuring me by saying that I needed to "take action" by paying for a reading, claimed a certain someone and I would be "reunited," and have this "long lasting," romantic relationship, etc.

Surely as you read this blog, you're all probably rolling your eyes and laughing at me.

If you actually met someone, who was capable of explaining your ENTIRE personality traits, quirks, and qualities to perfection and your past life stages to you without EVER knowing each other, you would probably be convinced that he/she was a psychic.

For the most part, I didn't know as much about astrology and tarot card readings as I do now. I didn't know about astrologers using our personal birth charts for each astrological sign. This doesn't bother me in the slightest.

However, "JENNA" infuriates me because "she's" the type of astrological scammer, who pressures people like some bill collector for a payment, while claiming to be a "psychic."

In 2011, I was already emotionally vulnerable and insecure. 2011 was the year of my 10-year high school reunion. Before my reunion, I had the pressure of finding a new job.

I was broke as a joke. I didn't want to be reunited with high school assholes bragging about being entrepreneurs, business owners, CEO's, doctors, lawyers, teachers, etc.

Also, I didn't want to be reunited with a pretty boy quitarist I fell madly in love with (and never completely got over like I originally thought), be potentially married to someone else.

Then, I learned about a dark, traumatic secret, that a family member hid for decades. Suddenly, it triggered my traumatic memories to be awakened. There was something traumatic from my high school senior year, which happened to me that I forgot.

It felt as if I was suffering from a nervous breakdown behind closed doors. Next, I began having nightmares about a potential massacre happening at my reunion.

The nightmare felt more like a premonition, which was partly why I originally refused to attend our reunion. Long story short, I ended up having to co-host it UNFORTUNATELY.

Meanwhile, "Jenna" helped create more chaos for my life, 3 years ago. "She" pressured me like a bill collector to pay "her." In addition, "Jenna" made me believe that I could be reunited and have a "long lasting relationship" with somebody, who wants NOTHING to do with me!

Then, 2 birthdays ago, I sent "Jenna" a $60 check for my reading. After paying "her," I read the complete reading "she" did for me. NOTHING that "Jenna" said in "her" reading sounded compatible and/or realistic about my supposed future profession and love life.

I said that exact same thing to "her." Suddenly, "Jenna" verbally attacked and accused me of "taking advantage of her." Later, I realized that I forgot to write my signature on "her" check to FRANCE.

All the while, I contacted Patrick Arundell online in order to get a 2nd opinion. I remember him telling me that he disliked "Jenna's" approach to readings. This was followed by Google eventually posting links about "Jenna" being a scam artist. Look! ----->

When I originally stumbled upon "Jenna" 3 years ago, none of this EVER appeared in my Google searches. Had I known this 3 years ago, I would've left "Jenna" alone.

Here's the real kicker! "Jenna's" not even the astro-tarotist's real name! "She" happens to be A MAN! Basically, "Jenna" is a FAKE "psychic" astro-tarotist.

I have Patrick Arundell to thank for giving me a 2nd opinion. He advised me to cancel my money from being withdrawn.

Unlike the fake "psychic" astro-tarotist Jenna, Patrick has credibility as a friend and an astrologer.

He posts both weekly and monthly astrological vlogs on his own YouTube channel and website. Lately, I haven't been as active on Patrick Arundell's website like I used to be.

Although, I will say that I enjoyed playing with his free online tarot cards and reading his daily, weekly, monthly, and annual astrological forecasts.

Patrick's site is very useful and he does NOT claim to be a "psychic."

I frequently visit his YouTube channel, as well as several other YouTube vloggers', astrologers', and tarotists' channels and websites.

If you want to learn more about Patrick Arundell, you can contact him on Facebook, YouTube, and his website in the preceding bold links! This can't be said for "Jenna."

I hope this blog helps more people to NOT fall victim to "Jenna Your Astrologer!"
