Song Saturday: Dethklok's Awaken (Mustakrakish)

How's it going my gumdrops? So far, I have made it to a total of 301 blogs on It's Not All Gumdrops & Unicorns!  This will be the 302nd blog. It's amazing how time flies I tell you.

Sometimes it seems like it was just yesterday that I created this website. I have been tempted to go back to revising and editing more blogs from the past 2 years.

Not only have I been meaning to revise and edit more previously published blogs, but I have also meant to share some Dethklok from Metalocalypse for a while.

Lately, I have not checked my notifications on Facebook about the Metalocalypse NOW Campaign. I simply cannot help reiterating how much Adult Swim screwed over fellow Metalocalypse fans.

Creator Brendon Small approached Adult Swim with the idea to create the finale as a so-called "big mini-series" for Metalocalypse. The network turned down the idea.

This Dark Humored/Macabre Horror-themed animated short about Death Metal bands is presumed to be canceled. Thanks a lot, Adult Swim.

So far, no one has made an official statement about Metalocalypse being canceled. The short appears to still be on hiatus.

Brandon Small created his Metalocalypse NOW Campaign and has been updating us fans on social media about Metalocalypse quite frequently.

As a Metalocalypse fan, I really hope the show is NOT  moved to Hulu Plus. Some of us on social media and on Adult Swim's forum have said that we do NOT  want to pay to watch Metalocalypse online, especially when we're ALREADY paying to watch other cable/satellite channels.

If Adult Swim wants to make 1 of its long running cash cows expendable for shitty live action shows and extremely low IQ'ed cartoons, Metalocalypse fans will be pissed.

Metalocalypse is mostly meant for us Metal fans, who understand the inside jokes and Metal references to other Metal bands in the music industry.

Also, Brendon Small has collaborated and went on concert tours with actual Metal bands such as Machine Head, All That Remains, The Black Dahlia Murder, Chimaira, Soilent Green, etc.

All the while, The Adult Swim Team wants to make Metalocalypse expendable for shitty programming.

Because I have spent this Song Saturday blog discussing Metalocalypse, it's only fitting to share something from Dethklok. Nearly a decade later, the "Dethtroll" episode is STILL my favorite next to "Religionklok." Most Metalocalypse episodes are only 13 minutes long.

If you missed watching Metalocalypse's "Dethtroll" episode, when it premiered in 2006, it was hilarious watching the band awaken the lake troll (Mustakrakish) in Finland.

Then, they had to play acoustical instruments to put it back to sleep.

What's That? Entertainment Media Is MORE Popular Than Social Media Among Teens?!

How's it going my gumdrops? The other day on my local news, I learned that Generation Z teenagers spend more time with entertainment media than using social media.

Just to warn you in advance, I noticed that my local CBS ripped this report from the news rag channel, CNN. Therefore, you can take it or leave it. I don't sit around watching CNN or any other national news channel for that matter.

CBS 58: "Teens Spend 9 Hours A Day Using Media, Report Says"

As I was saying, the Generation Z teenagers are supposedly spending more time enjoying entertainment media than social media. Thank you, God!

In a way, I'm somewhat relieved to hear this news (if it's actually true) because it would mean that Generation Z still enjoys being entertained as opposed to being brainwashed and bored into oblivion by self-righteous, wannabe "political activists."

It has been at least 15 years, since I was last a teenager. Throughout the decades, most teenagers were normally interested in entertainment and fashion, anyway.

Unlike what students have been forced to do over these last 11 years, those of us in our early 30's-50's were NOT  necessarily required to militantly march around our campuses and across the country with our high school teachers and professors to protest religions, wars, and presidents we hated and/or condemned them for classroom assignments.

Furthermore, it was not an extreme requirement to be politically correct 24/7. We had enough of our own personal problems to endure.

Speaking of militant educators from personal experience, I had a Baby Boomer English Lit. professor, who had political hatred for both Bush Administrations. He especially hated The Reagans and every Conservative Republican in existence. This is dating back to 2005.

Before entertainment was ruined by the politically divisive media and self-righteous, politically divisive, Hollywood "activists," we made the most out of our adolescence by socializing, dating, shopping, and enjoying entertainment with or without friends.

Everyone did not have cell phones and if you had your own phone line to your bedroom (like moi), that was still pretty cool. Wow! Life without a cell phone. What a shocker!

Entertainment's original purpose was for escapism. Now, it is more of a platform for attention whores, political propaganda, and self-righteous, wannabe political activists.

Before 2003 and 2004, there was no such thing as MySpace or Facebook. During the 1990's and early 21st Century, the closest to social networking were forums and blogging forums. It was great!

We didn't have to take selfies every God damn second for literally every stranger around the world to validate our physical appearances. We had our own physical scrapbooks and photo albums to hold onto our memories WITHOUT  being online for the whole world to see us for validation.

Also, it was NOT  a requirement for us to broadcast the vapid play by play of our daily lives and/or politically and religiously oppress each others' views. Oppression and spying with divisive tools is the way to be today. Oh, how lovely.

It is a disgrace that Generation Z teenagers must have sharents and helicopter parents friending them on social media sites because they want to spy on everything their sons and daughters say and do.

If today's parents can't trust their teenagers and younger children, they should NOT  have social media accounts.

Teenagers value their freedom from their parents and don't want their parents EAVESDROPPING.

Meaning, they want to talk amongst their friends about crushes, boyfriends, girlfriends, etc. without their parents constantly eavesdropping into their conversations.

Remember when parents, mainly MOTHERS would eavesdrop by listening to their sons/daughters talking on landline phones?

Landline phones were replaced with Facebook walls and other social media sites with walls for teenagers to have their conversations with friends, boyfriends, and girlfriends online.

Granted, a nice portion of their discussions are usually PUBLIC. However, they have more control over who they allow on their friends list and who can see their posts.

This especially can be said for IM chat features. Aside from the privacy features on social media sites, teenagers really DON'T  need to be on social media sites because there's too many creeps online.

Considering that I'm old enough to have my own 8th grader, I would only allow my son or daughter to use the Internet for homework assignments and research. There are a lot of sociopaths, pedophiles, serial killers, and other types of lowlife criminals using the Internet.

If the Internet is NOT safe for adults, why would it be any safer for minors?

This may sound like I'm contradicting myself, but just think about it. Lately, adults are proving to be just as careless and irresponsible as teenagers.

I can understand why parents eavesdrop on their teenagers' conversations. At the same time, teenagers still value their privacy.

Regarding teenagers and entertainment, they should be like the typical teenagers. In other words, they should be watching TV, listening to music, talking to their friends on the phone, NOT  texting and sexting them to cause huge backlash.

Teenagers should also have their typical sleepovers, parties, DATES, etc. They have their entire lives to be adults. Therefore, they should be enjoying their adolescence, while they still can. Tomorrow is promised to NO ONE.

Hey, Generation X! I'm Talking To You!

How's it going my POTENTIAL gumdrops? You may think that the name, "gumdrop" is insulting but as for someone like myself, who is between both Generations X and Y, I consider it to be cute. Most people would consider me to be a Millennial.

A little while ago, I learned that I am actually considered Generation Flux. I was born in 1982 and my mother was born in 1962. We have a 20-year age gap. Because my mother was born in between 1961-1981, she is considered a Gen Xer. Also, because my parents are Gen Xers and I was born in 1982, I am technically considered to be a "Fluxer." If my parents were Baby Boomers during the early '80s, I would be a Millennial.

With me being a Fluxer, I was both a child of the '80s and '90s and became an adult in 2000. It's amazing how time flies! Don't you miss the 1980s and '90s? You know, before entertainment turned into the Shit Sandwich it is today?

This is where YOUR generation comes in:

On September 23, 2013, I created my own website, It's Not All Gumdrops & Unicorns for free. Originally, it was only meant to be my personal author website. In a way, it still is. However, I spend more time posting entertaining and informative blogs than anything.

Song Saturday and Cartoon Sunday blogs are the main blogs I post, during the weekends. Sometimes, I will post an extra blog throughout the week. It really depends on how I am feeling and what else I'm doing at the time. I have posted nearly 300 blogs on It's Not All Gumdrops & Unicorns. Therefore, you're not extremely limited to content. Although, the only major restriction I have is my Horror page.

The Horror page on It's Not All Gumdrops & Unicorns has samples of some of the short stories I have posted. Only members can view this page and FOR FREE. Otherwise, everything else is fair game.

If you want to learn more about me, check out It's Not All Gumdrops & Unicorns. Last but not least, I would really LOVE to have your feedback. What do you want me to share, in order to keep you as a part of my target audience, that does NOT center around politics?

Thank you and I look forward to your replies!

Chiller TV Beats Adult Swim To The Punch By Grabbing Devil May Cry

How's it going my gumdrops? It has been several months, since the last time I actually posted a blog on Blogger. Most of my content can be found on the official It's Not All Gumdrops & Unicorns website.

I blog over there at least twice on the weekends for Song Saturday and Cartoon Sunday. These last 2 weeks, I have been updating my reviews for Christmas Slashers and Horror Anime.

Speaking of Horror Anime, Chiller TV recently started airing Horror Anime, again. Many of us viewers are excited about it. In fact, Chiller TV's Anime Wednesday block appears to be a hot topic on Adult Swim's message board. What amazes me about some of those posters is that they seriously believe, that Chiller TV is new.

It is somewhat understandable why they would assume that Chiller TV is a new network, if they have never had Dish Network or Direct TV. Those are the only 2 providers, that carry Chiller TV.

Over 2 years ago, I posted a rant blog on Xanga 1.0 about Chiller TV's programming. I transferred this same blog below to JournalHome.com, last winter.

http://www.journalhome.com/RealistMe/1002103/chiller-tv-or-not-so-chiller-tv.html

Since the time I posted that blog 2 years ago, my views about Chiller TV really haven't changed. However, I'm glad that the network decided to re-air Anime. If you have been following my blogs on the official It's Not All Gumdrops & Unicorns website, you should recall, that I posted a Cartoon Sunday blog last Sunday about Chiller TV and Tokyo Majin.

Cartoon Sunday: Tokyo Majin

The fact that Chiller TV beat Adult Swim to grabbing Devil May Cry has me reeling. Since the time Adult Swim re-branded its Anime block on late Saturday nights and early Sunday mornings as "Toonami," I have been saying for the last 3 years, that Devil May Cry should be airing on "Toonami."

Instead, the Toonami Team bought Deadman Wonderland and other shows. 2014 was the most that I ever watched Toonami. Surprisingly, Adult Swim grabbed Hellsing Ultimate, last fall.

Not that I hate every Anime Adult Swim airs, but I can't sit through watching most of the network's shows in general.

What are the chances of Adult Swim snatching more of Syfy and Chiller TV's sloppy seconds for Anime?

Last Wednesday, I told some Adult Swim posters that I'm currently watching Chiller TV's entire Anime Wednesday block. This is something I could never say for Cartoon Network and Adult Swim's Toonami.

I may sound condescending for saying this, but Cartoon Network and Adult Swim mostly pander to Shonen Jump Action Anime Tards. Both networks have been for the last 10-20 years. This is partly why the casual viewers are unaware of other genres and sub-genres, that aren't Shonen Jump Action Anime.

Before last week ended, I politely asked Adult Swim's main moderator, if he could add at least 1 of our Chiller TV's Anime Wednesday threads to Adult Swim's Featured Topics. Of course, our moderator ignored me. Then again, he pays selective attention when he isn't randomly banning posters for defending ourselves against trolls.

Why You Should NOT Join Adult Swim's Message Board

If our main moderator wasn't so condescending and ornery, more Adult Swim posters would have some respect for him. Adult Swim posters and moderators can leave other posters with bad impressions of them. Generally speaking, if the people at Adult Swim didn't have such attitude problems, more veteran posters would probably stay and new posters would join.

The network is already a heaping pile. Anytime Chiller TV's Anime Wednesday block has a more entertaining block than Adult Swim's Toonami, that speaks volumes. Granted, both Chiller TV and Adult Swim have their flaws like every other network. Although, if Chiller starts airing better Anime than Toonami, Adult Swim will be up Shit Creek without a paddle and will lose another portion of its Anime fans.

Before the Toonami re-branding 3 years ago, Adult Swim aired better Anime with more variety and wasn't as niche as today. If Adult Swim continuously allows other networks with lower budgets to defeat them, more Anime fans will look forward to Chiller TV's Anime Wednesday instead of Adult Swim's Toonami.

Why You Should NOT Join Adult Swim's Message Board

How's it going my gumdrops? I meant to post another blog on Blogger much sooner, but I have been extremely busy with my own website, It's Not All Gumdrops & Unicorns. This is along with juggling my online presence on several other sites. Adult Swim is only naming 1 example.

Most of my friends/subscribers on facebook, Blogster, and Horror-Punks already know, that I have been a poster on Adult Swim, since last August. Some have considered joining and I said, "No! You will regret it." You may be sitting down, scratching your head, and asking "Why not?" Here are some questions you should ask yourself before considering Adult Swim:

Do you like...

  • walking on eggshells?
  • being treated like a criminal?
  • being accused of being a troll?
  • being psychoanalyzed to pieces?
  • being treated like a verbal punching bag?
  • being politically correct every nano second?
  • getting rape and death threats?
  • constantly looking over your shoulder?
  • people insulting every show or movie you enjoy?
  • political oppression, oppression in general, and censorship?
  • whenever people always feel the need to put you in your place?
  • the thought of always being banned every time you defend yourself against assholes and trolls?
  • Did you enjoy being an outcast in high school?

If you answered no to at least 1 of these questions, you should not join Adult Swim's message board. There are SOME nice posters. However, there are also shitty posters. These are the following reasons why you should not join Adult Swim:

Reasons Why You Should NOT Join Adult Swim's Message Board:

* No Blocking- Adult Swim doesn't have a block feature. Most blogging and social media sites have a "Block" button, which makes it easier for assholes and trolls to appear as "invisible" on your screen. Adult Swim does have an "Ignore" button. Too bad it no longer works because there are assholes I would personally LOVE to block.

* Hijacking- The topic of the thread doesn't matter. Regardless if it's a positive or negative thread, assholes and trolls love hijacking another poster's thread. The hijacking is usually done to create arguments and sometimes to spout death threats. I've gotten a few death threats by a skanky, narcissistic sociopath.

* Terrible Communications/Social Skills- The remaining veteran Adult Swim posters highly lack social skills; They don't know how to socialize or communicate. Their idea of socializing is being verbally abusive towards other posters.

* Begrudgment- Some posters are quick to begrudge other posters for their success. Some have an inferiority complex and are close-minded to anyone the moment they assume that other poster(s) believes he/she is superior to everyone else because of his/her accomplishments. This most definitely applies towards website and business owners.

Rather than taking action and improving their own lives, some posters would rather demonize and ostracize another poster. In a nutshell, they are "haters." Most Adult Swim posters dislike business owners and love demonizing them because they were brainwashed to hate businesses in general by the media.

Then again, Adult Swim is a brother network of CNN.

* Game Of Cliques/Alliances- Some veteran posters play both sides of cliques. I always love whenever a friend is in the center of 2 friends, who dislike each other. The friend in the middle will pretend to be "neutral," even though he/she already decided who's side to be on. This usually leads to ostracizing the other so-called "friend."

* The Blame Game- Some remaining veteran posters are quick to play The Blame Game. Rather than accepting their own faults, Adult Swim posters only want to blame 1 or a few other posters for their own problems, that they helped create. Most of them are their own worst enemies yet they still love finger pointing.

* Pissing Contests- The remaining veteran posters regularly hold pissing contests over politics and cartoon ratings in the most active sections of the site. 2 of the most active sections are Babbling and Toonami. Adult Swim's message board mostly consists of grown men fighting over politics like they are on CNN. Otherwise, there are Toonami Tards fighting over Shonen Jump Action Anime ratings rather than sitting down and enjoying their favorite Anime. Some of them have severe mental and behavioral problems and love wreaking havoc for other posters.

* Persecution- Veteran posters are usually quick to persecute new posters and assume they are recurring male trolls. I joined Adult Swim last August. In all my years of being an Internet user, I have never felt so unwelcome to ANY site. That was until I joined Adult Swim.

I currently belong to several other websites. As toxic as some of those sites can be, at least new posters aren't treated like an inconvenience, if not a criminal.

Adult Swim's message board makes other websites look like a trip to Disneyland.

* Crooked Moderation- The moderators treat posters like an inconvenience rather than solving the problems. In order to cope with racism, misogyny, rape/death threats, and trolling in general, posters have to either ignore it, or jump ship. Adult Swim's moderators are the equivalent of cops, that turn blind eyes to the corruption. Instead of moderators enforcing Adult Swim's board rules, posters get a slap on the wrist for bad behavior by only getting temporary bans. Otherwise, there is a double standard and the moderators will justify it.

* Multiple Identities- The remaining veteran posters create different poster names out of sheer boredom. I still don't understand the point of randomly creating multiple accounts, when they haven't been banned UNLESS it is to only rig polls and troll other posters. They really do rig polls and troll in aliases.

* Censorship- Adult Swim is a HIGHLY censored message board. Even though the network has "Adult" in its title and posters literally have their own dick pics floating around in cyber space, the message board and its programming are highly censored. People only preach about Freedom Of Speech, whenever it's convenient.

All the while, those same Adult Swim posters are oppressive of others. Most posters can dish it out, but can't take it. They'll be quick to lecture someone about not being "politically correct," when they're not exactly the most respectful of anybody. I spend more time walking on eggshells for Adult Swim posters than anywhere on and offline.

There are business meetings and sports bras, that are more comfortable and entertaining than posting on Adult Swim. I can only imagine some Adult Swim posters going on dates and being as boring as watching paint dry. Or as uptight and uncomfortable as a Super Wedgy.

* Turnover Rate- Adult Swim has a high turnover rate with posters. Most veterans grew tired of the negativity on the site and left. This is especially when it is impossible to have a fun thread meant for everyone. At least 1 asshole hijacks it only to start fights with another poster(s). This depends on whether the fight is with the creator of the thread, or someone else in it.

* Suicide Rate- Adult Swim has a suicide rate among posters. Before and during the time I joined the forum, there was already a history of some veteran posters being suicidal and committing suicide.

I don't have an actual percentage. However, there were at least a handful.

Some of those same suicidal posters threaten to commit suicide today.

* Social Networking Abuse- Some veteran posters treat Adult Swim's forum like it's their personal facebook status update. There is at least 1 morally corrupt/narcissistic sociopathic poster, who uses Adult Swim's forum like she's on facebook.

She brags about all the Johns she's met and had sex with via Tinder.

* Limited & Opportunistic Humor- Some remaining veteran posters lack a sense of humor UNLESS they're trolling other posters. Adult Swim posters mostly revel in acting like rude, belligerent, chastising, and self-righteous trolls. Putting each other in their places mostly amuses them and their colluding friends. 1/2 remaining posters no longer watch shows on Adult Swim. Although, they will nit pick and psychoanalyze plots and characters to pieces.

* Cyber Ghost Town- Adult Swim's forum is on life support. Sane people should NOT join the site because the remaining posters already want to leave it or witness the shutdown. Most sane people don't have the time, energy, and patience to deal with grown men and their childish antics, while simultaneously lecturing other posters about being "politically correct" and arguing over shows.

Ask yourself, "Why is the divorce rate constantly soaring?" If you say, "It's because people don't have time for bullshit," apply that same answer to Adult Swim's message board.

All in all, it's much better to remain an Adult Swim viewer than being a poster. Most of the regulars waste time nit picking and finger pointing at everything and everyone. Do NOT join Adult Swim. If you do, you will regret it even more because you CANNOT delete your account.

Song Saturday: Happy Early Birthday To Culture Club's Boy George!

How's it going my gumdrops? You're not gonna believe this. I happen to share the exact same birthday as Boy George from Culture Club. Yes, the "New Romantic" lead singer is literally 1 year older than my mother. Yep, Boy George will be turning 54 on Flag Day the SAME DAY  I turn 33. Gotta love it!

Want to know something REALLY juicy?

According to his Take It Like A Man autobiography, Boy George had a secret relationship with Theatre Of Hate and Spear Of Destiny's frontman, Kirk Brandon.

In addition, Boy George had a secret relationship with his Culture Club drummer, Jon Moss. Most of their group's songs were about their so-called "secret love."

In that same autobiography, the Culture Club lead singer dished some dirt about Bush's frontman, Gavin Rossdale.

During the 1980's, Boy George and Gavin both had "secret liaisons" with singer, "Marilyn." Who? I have never heard of "Marilyn," until recently. I only know of Marilyn Monroe and Marilyn Manson. This is all news to most of us.

Conducting my own research, "Marilyn's" real name is Peter Anthony Robinson. He's an androgynous, British/Jamaican Pop singer. He's also a New Romantic/New Wave/Reggae singer.

Anyway, in Boy George's autobiography Take It Like A Man, he revealed that he and Gavin Rossdale from Bush shared "Marilyn" as their gay lover.

When saying the preceding, I mean that Boy George and Gavin Rossdale BOTH had "Marilyn" in common as a gay lover. You learn something new everyday!

For years, Gavin denied it. It was not until several years ago that Bush's frontman finally admitted to having "Marilyn" as his gay lover. Hearing this news left me reeling.

Gavin Rossdale didn't strike me as a frontman, who would be involved in a homosexual relationship.

Those of us, who were teen girls and young women during the '90s, lusted for him.

I will definitely testify to having lust for Gavin. Bush's music videos always gave off dark and spooky vibes, their songs were typically on Horror soundtracks, and Gavin was sexy.

Personally, I always felt that Gavin Rossdale would've been the perfect actor for a sequel to The Crow.

That's not including the fact that I'm a sucker for tall, dark, and brooding men, especially when they happen to be sexy vocalists playing guitars.

Well, since I have talked about Culture Club's Boy George, Bush's Gavin Rossdale, and their past gay lover, "Marilyn" who they had in common, here's a flashback from 33 years ago. Today, here is Culture Club's "I'll Tumble 4 Ya" for this early Song Saturday.

Culture Club "I'll Tumble 4 Ya" Kissing To Be Clever (1982)
